Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed by the label's debut female singer with Dreamville Records by J. Cole. In October 21st, 2016 she debuted Pho, her first EP for the Dreamville Records label. It was at this point that she gained her first recognition. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks on the internet in 2012 after she dropped her first mixtape Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. In 2014 Ari Lennox released her single Bound and the mixtape she self-released, Five Finger Discount. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album on Sweat released on the 21st of July. J. Cole was interested in her talents and was keen to use it in conjunction with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 the news was made public that Rihanna had contracted with Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut EP, on October 21, 2016. Ari Lennox performed the song Change by J. Cole as well as being an opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She was joined by EarthGang. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks by EarthGang On Nothing but the Best, and Bas On Icarus. Ari Lennox's first album Shea Butter Baby was released on 16 July 2018. The debut single, Whipped Cream of the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. On the 9th of November 2018 the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). Two additional singles were also released by her on November 13 with the titles Pedigree and One. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on February 26, 2019 for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby was featured with Cole as part of The Creed II sound track on November 16. In February of 2019, the music video for the song was released. It has had over three million YouTube views within a week. She was the supporting act for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
